About Me
My passion for improving human health through innovative approaches paved my career path. I obtained my BSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies from the University of Bari (Italy), and then moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where I continued my education. There, I obtained my MSc in Molecular Medicine and my doctorate at the Erasmus Medical Center.
My PhD research focused primarily on biochemical work, together with computational structural biology and theoretical biophysics. I routinely applied protein modeling and biomolecular simulations to complement and synergize the biochemical work, and I also contributed to the work of other research groups with these computational approaches. My interest in the atomic mechanisms of biological systems, and their interactions with small molecules, eventually led me to the University of Innsbruck (Austria) as a guest researcher, and then to the pharmaceutical company SOM Biotech as Senior Computational Chemist.
